Hairstyling is an important life long industry, fulfilling the needs from the toddlers' first trim to enhancing the self image of all ages - male and female with haircuts, colorants and styles to suit faces and lifestyles.

This can be incredibly rewarding. Good hairstylist are in short supply and a qualified, creative hairdresser will never be redundant.

Everyone - men and woman alike, needs a good self image, and imaginative and inspired hairstyling is one of the most important "feel great" boosters affecting our personal success.

There are many different approaches to choose from as a professional hairdresser - from working in a salon to owning ones own business. Work on a cruise line while seeing the world! Another route could be working for fashion houses and magazines. One can also become involved with salon products as technical representatives. The opportunities are endless ...

 

Course Details

One year full time

Lectures (9am - 4px)
The hairdressing department is open every day until 4pm; the learners are welcome to use the facilities.

18 months part time

Saturdays (9am - 2pm)

National Exam - Face to Face

International Exam (City & Guilds - centre number 843149).

The course teaches the learner both Caucasian and Afro-Caribbean hairdressing techniques. Product training, external demonstrations and shows will be included in the students’ syllabus. Each module offers facilitators with specialised training. The student will create their own portfolios. Projects and assessments are all part of the hairdressing course.

  • Professional Conduct

  • Business Studies

  • First Aid

  • Product Training

 

Fast Fashion Hairstyling:

  • Shampoo and condition hair

  • Perform a scalp massage

  • Finger waves

  • Product knowledge for blow drying

  • Perform roller setting to achieve a variety of looks

  • Up-styling to achieve a variety of looks

  • Blow drying techniques to achieve a variety of looks

Duration: 4 sessions

These courses are run throughout the year.

These are all complementary subjects to hairdressing and are offered at the college part time - Saturday mornings or in the afternoons after regular classes.
